What is the console and windshield made of?

The console itself is made out of heavy gauge aluminum. It is formed to the proper shape. The support legs and console base are also made out of this same gauge metal. The console top and outside edges are covered in marine carpeting. The windshield is made out of Lexan. The windshield blocks hold the windshield in the upright position and are made out of rubber.

How much does it weigh?

Approximately 8 pounds.

How high off the ground does it sit?

About one 1 inch.

How does it deploy?

The user deploys the windshield by raising the console up to an upright position and swinging the support wings outward. Next, the windshield is simply lifted upward and locked into place. This whole process takes only seconds.

You need 30" between seat and raised deck
to have enough room to deploy the unit.

Be aware the the width of the unit is 23" and you will need
an unobstructed area of 30" x 24" to deploy the unit.

How does it retract?

After disengaging the rubber blocks the windshield   then slides down into the protective console. The support wings are pushed inward toward the console. The console is then gently dropped back to the floor. This whole process also takes only seconds.

 

How much weight can it withstand? We've had customers who weigh well over 300# stand on it (when it is retracted!) without a problem.

How durable is it?

We've field tested the shield in a variety of conditions (fast speeds, heavy waves, strong winds, etc.) and the quality materials and craftsmanship have stood up flawlessly.

 

What information do I need for ordering a Sea-View Windshield?

Each dealer may require different information. Typically, they will ask for:

1. Make, model, and year of your boat

2. Measurement of area the windshield will be installed into (see diagram above)

3. Carpet color choice

4. If a customized modification is required: (different boat configuration requiring windshield to be installed in upper deck, for example). We will ask for specific measurements and a digital photo of the boat’s lay-out sent to our website.

5. If customized carpet variation required (for example, if you wish to match the ash gray carpet in your 2004 Ranger 620) we will need your boat’s serial number.

How do I install the Sea-View Windshield?

Detailed information is provided with your windshield which makes installing the original Sea-View very easy. Most customers are able to do this themselves or you may choose to enlist the services of a handy man or a local marine service department.

What if my boat’s lay-out doesn’t adhere to the original Sea-View’s measurements? Are there variations of the console and windshield to custom fit it into different boat designs?

 A: Most certainly! We can customize the windshield’s design so that it deploys from an upper deck, out of a drawer, or on a sliding track on the floor. Please see the subject heading Variations for more info.

Can I install a Sea-View Windshield in a pontoon boat?

Yes! It is a very easy installation.

The average price is $419.00 with $25 shipping charges. Some customized models may be priced differently.
